Catholic Daughters of America
Members of the Catholic Daughters of America will be participating in the "Lifesavers for Domestic Abuse Project" after all Masses this weekend. From the money collected, 60% will be donated to the Iowa City Domestic Violence Shelter and 40% will be distributed to the four Bishops of Iowa for domestic violence prevention. We know you will be generous in supporting this worthwhile endeavor.
St. Mary's Adult Enrichment
Tues. May 23rd, from 7-8:30 PM in the parish hall. TOPIC - Catechism of the Catholic Church and "The Our Father" |
St. Anthony’s Bread
In April 2006, we assisted 68 families and individuals. We were able to help so many in need because of your donations through Sacrificial Giving, the Holy Thursday collection, and individual contributions. We paid partial rent, utility and water bills for over 50 households. Most of these were in danger of becoming homeless, or having their utilities disconnected. We purchased basic supplies for a woman who came to the shelter with nothing. We paid one night's lodging for a mother and baby when Shelter House was full. We made partial payment for medications for four people. We helped with fuel for one person, and a bus pass for another, so that each could get to work. We thank you for your compassion for those in need through your support of St. Anthony's Bread.
A Shopping List for Pantry Sunday
You may bring your items to donate to the parish hall on the weekend of May 27th and 28th.

Thoughts on Giving
God has chosen each one of us and He has a mission for each of us. He has given us different gifts and talents so that we may complete the work he has appointed for us. How are you using your gifts and talents?
