Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ericas Peterson and Joseph Barbee who were married this weekend St. Mary's!

REST IN PEACE

We pray for the repose of the souls of Phyllis Roskup of our parish; Mary Jane Browning, mother of Roger Browning; Owen Duffy, father of Lisa Duffy Shank; and Cyrus "Cy" Osweiler, father of Karla Peiffer.

May they be welcomed into everlasting life!

Thank You from New Orleans

The following is a portion of a letter we received from the sisters in New Orleans, responding to the twenty boxes of school supplies sent to them from the Summer Bible School participants.

How fortunate are we to have friends like you, who offer support in so many ways. Thank you for your donation of so many wonderful school supplies to "Lantern Light Ministry." Every parent who has children of school age benefited from the children's generosity. We hope to send the rest of the supplies to a school that will re-open in September.

Gratefully,
Sr. Enid Storey, pbvm

LIFE CHAIN is taking place this year on Sunday, October 1st from 2-3 PM. It is a time set aside to remind people of faith of the sanctity of human life and to confirm the factual truth in the minds of people who waver about the humanity of a fetus - abortion is indeed the killing of an unborn child. Meet us at City Park shelter #7 to pick up a sign, and then build the chain along Dubuque Street, from Park Road to Jefferson Street.

THOUGHTS ON STEWARDSHIP

Being Christian stewards means challenging ourselves to consider all people, regardless of their wealth or position, as our brothers and sisters.

Choose Life Prayer - We pray for those who fear the consequences of an unintended pregnancy that they may let go of their fear and trust the Lord.

Vocation View - Pray for the gift of openness for yourself, and for those you know whom God may be calling to priesthood or religious life.
